A Priori


Clouds gather

menacing shore

blanketing sand 

in listless fog 

 

I step along 

the invisible floor 

my feet sift earth 

 

a shape obscured 

 

yet already I know 

before I was born 

 

a square 

from a circle 

 

and the crime 

of war
