You've told me you're feeling anxious, and right now I know your needs come first.
Here's what I wish I could tell you:
When you're anxious I sometimes feel rejected and I sometimes feel on edge.
I struggle not being able to express these emotions how I normally do.
I ask myself, "Am I frustrated because I don't feel your love like before or because I am selfish?
It's probably both but I hope it's the former more than the latter.
I know it's not because you don't love me, but regardless, these feelings pass through me.
Right now what makes you feel anxious makes me feel secure.
There is no quick solution and I feel like I can't help much.
I'm just trying to understand how you're feeling.
I've decided to keep all of this to myself because right now I know your needs come first.
I try to alleviate the pain myself, but it's not quite the same.
I know telling you right now won't help.
I'm trying to be more patient and just focus on what's best for you.
One day I'll be able to tell you how I'm feeling too.
Until then, I'm hoping this poem gives some relief.
