Prisoner

Loneliness takes a hold

Gripping like a vice.

Holding me prisoner.

No direction to turn

No safety to be found.

Clarity is shaken,

What is reality and what is myth?

No truth in the sense of the word,

Lost in a vast ocean of tears.

Faith is taken from your grasp,

Looking for a way to escape.

Left to fight alone,

The one you loved is gone.

Missing the person they used to be,

Hating the stranger that took their place.

The wounds will heal with time,

Time is the enemy.

Loneliness fills your heart,

Looking for a new star.
