Prisoner to emotion
I sit here, trapped in my own imagination,
Shackles of emotion, clenched around my neck.
You and I, both holding the keys,
to freedom or foolishness.
I hope this is just a phase,
your precious eyes of innocence,
colliding with the guilt,
of unguided affection in my heart.
"Can you hear me, can you hear me?!"
My mind screams as you walk by.
The thoughts of holding your hand,
My dreams, living a better reality than I.
I cannot continue,
being at the equilibrium
of my boldness of imagination,
and my fear of reality.
I want to be with you,
but now I grow and mature over time,
My conscience constantly uttering to me,
that you were never mine.
