Prisoner of a ghost

A misguided hand in the name of love masked as care

Preachings of my father telling me it was indeed love

That the bruises on my body both visible and internal were all gifts from the man who loved me.

Continuing on the journey of bloody wrists and car crashes was the plan I was supposed to follow.

A map to my future

Silenced screams and dried up tears let the path towards my destruction but it was all in the name of “love”

Clinging on to the false story I was told over and over.

A dream turned to Nightmares

It was clear that the man who was sent to save me was the monster keeping me in that tower

Yet although the monster has been removed from its post, I am still a prisoner.

Curfews and rules all given by a ghost.

Since there is no gatekeeper, Trickery and disobedience would be allowed? Right?

Broken rules set up by a tyrant who is no longer sitting on the throne are bound to be ignored.

Then why must I stay in my tower under the rules of the man who ripped me apart?

I am the last one standing yet I do not feel victorious.

How must I go on when I am haunted by a monster who was slain by his own sword?
