Privileges
Today I parted my lips
I opened my mouth and sighed.
You know, I was going to say
"I love you",
But why should I waste my time?
I'd much rather use my breath
To speak of other things-
Like work and finances!-
Things we don't have,
But need
Why should I hug you tight?
Let you know things are okay,
Show just how proud I am
Of you
As I watch you grow
Throughout the days.
No.
Instead, I'll make sure you understand
How disappointing you reall are
To me
And to, well, everyone!
I doubt that you'll go far.
My dreams for you have
Vanished.
Just like my patients-
Gone.
If I sould tell you
Anything?
It's whay you're doing
Wrong.
Don't think that I don't love you,
That would be obsurd!
But to tell you?-
That is a
Privlage
And it's one you don't
Deserve.
