Prized Possession

Although enjoying the company of others is what I like to do

I could learn to adapt to the solitude of a deserted island too.

The idea of being alone, does not bring stress nor strain,

I view it as a welcomed opportunity to unwind and unclog my brain

My one prized possession that I just cannot live without

Keeps me grounded, lifts my spirits and erases all doubt.

When the world tries to chew me up, spit me out and hand out fear and despair,

I find comfort in my prized possession that reminds me that nothing is too great to bear.

Although centuries old, and in many, a form,

My prized possession, never gets old and never gets worn

Even on a deserted island, as long as it comes with me.

I will survive just fine, continuing to be the best that I can be.

So, deserted island here I come, just little old me

With a smile on my face, and my prized possession

Which is my Holy Bible, the BEST book that there will ever be.
