Probably Shouldn't

I probably shouldn't ask, "How little effort can I put into this class and still get the A?" But that's the question that most impacts me.

I probably shouldn't  tell you I don't care about this subject. But it's the truth. I mean you were a student, how many classes did you take that you felt were absolutely useless to you?

I probably shouldn't more work doesn't mean more learning. Busy work doesn't make busy minds. Busy work creates bored students who don't pay attention to their work and just cruise through life.

I probably shouldn't  tell you that while you think lecture is the only way to get through all your material doesn't make it the best way to teach all the material.

I probably shouldn't  interrupt class to ask, "Can I be excused? My sleep is acting up." Seriously though, who created 8 a.m. classes?

I probably shouldn't  make smartass remarks like, "So that's what's going to be on the test, but what information is useful for life?" Because you didn't force me into this class.

I probably shouldn't admit, "No I did not read the book, but Spark Notes is an incredible resource." But I had a lot of other work to do and reading a 20 page short story was not worth my time.

I probably shouldn't brag with, "You know that "this isn't some kind of paper you can write in one night" paper you assigned? I wrote it last night." But I'm a little proud of it.

I probably shouldn't let you know that I got an A and learned absolutely nothing.

On second thought, maybe I should. Maybe if I told you all these things you could correct them. You could improve your teaching methods, I could help you help others. Maybe if I told you all these things instead of judging me you would see it as a wakeup call. Maybe if I told you everything you would know I'm not trying to be rude, I'm trying to help.  Maybe if I told someone who was willing listen and do something this broken system would have a chance to be improved.

I probably shouldn't  say, "Thank you," because that's not cool, but I really appreciate all the work you do in an attempt to create a brighter future for me and my generation.
