The Process Repeats

My friend came up to me broken

Broken because her heart got shattered

Shattered by the boy she thought she could trust

She trusted him because he said she could

But like I tried to tell her it was all a lie

Why does she ask for my advice if she won’t listen?

Why won’t she ever listen?

Why won’t any ever listen to me?

Is it because they think they are smarter than me?

Wiser than me?

More experienced than me?

Or is it because of the society we live in?

A society that says we can and we must do everything on our own

But I cannot live that way

I need always need help

I always need advice

But no one is ever there to give it to me

It doesn’t seem fair I have to fix things for everyone else when they don’t listen

When I need to listen to someone no one speaks

By tomorrow the process repeats
