To Procrastinate
The textbook definition of procrastination is the action of postponing or delaying something. Procrastination is when a person chooses to put things aside until the last moment. Procrastination is the tendency you have to rely on your ability to stay up all night. Procrastination is somehow finishing an essay two hours before it is due. Procrastination is sipping an energy drink to maintain enough energy to finish a project. Procrastination is putting off grading essays until the day before grades are due. It is something that often gets in the way of someone being on time for an activity or event--creating an annoyance for other people. It is the lazy habit of waiting until your mom is pulling up to the driveway, to wash the dishes in a hurry. It is the habit of telling yourself you are going to start your homework when this Youtube video ends, then telling yourself you are going to begin in a hour… and then you wonder how you ended up on the weird side of Youtube because it’s two in the morning and you will not be receiving a full eight-hours tonight--or even any hours at all.
