"Prodigal Son"
A prodigal son
On an expedition to discover himself-
Found his life spiraling out of control.
Spending endless nights in various motels,
Having one night stands with various women-
Battling ceaseless bout of insomnia
It did not occur to him, to strive to know the Lord,
To seek his unfathomable wisdom
As he drives during the bleak hours of the night,
He gazes out the window searching for answers.
When all of sudden-
His car is dangling on the edge of monstrosity of a cliff.
He is staring death in the face,
Divided between a rock and a hard place-
The first Angel with a golden halo representing God’s Grace,
And the second Angel consumed by flames depicting the ravaging fires of Hades.
The sirens well at the paramedics approach the scene-
Hanging on by a thread,
They are able to rescue him and bring him to safety.
Before slipping into a peaceful slumber,
His final words are-
“Jesus come into my heart and grant me your wisdom and peace. Take away my burdens.”
He breathes a sigh of relief,
And goes to be with the Lord-
His body freed from all pain,
His faith flourished in the final moments of his life.
