PROJECTED INSECURITY

Hanging my head Feeling helpless Driven to avoidance I'm such a mess Not sure what I did I know I don't deserve it I thought that we were friends Falling into a bottomless pit The things you say are hurtful The things you do are mean I don't wish this on anyone My insides want to scream So condescending to my face I'm humiliated to the core Social media makes you mighty I'm not sure which you enjoy more I wish you knew the pain you've caused Inside my heart is breaking I try not to let my feelings show It's my self esteem you're taking What makes you think I'm so inferior? Perhaps you're projecting your insecurity My life will go on, and I will be strong And I will have earned my maturity
