Prom

I waited up all night,

You never came.

It was prom night

You were drunk

Or that where you place the blame

We were in love

Or was that a lie?

Everyone warned me about you

Now I see what’s true

We are who we are

No I can’t change you

I tried for months

Tear after tear,

I finally see

You are who you are

No matter what I do,

You will always be you.
