The Promise

Simple markings line the many pages Emotions just waiting to be let free They stay silently inside lined cages They are always right there, ready for me Cascading and flowing through the crisp air Expressing sorrow, love, joy, and heartache Instrument and notes as the perfect pair This is the language of music we make To tell the world who we are inside To display all the feelings of our hearts Music, the friend that never leaves your side Through the highs and the lows will never part God’s gift to us, the promise that never fails That leads us Home, along the narrow trail
