Promise
i like you in a way i didn't think i could
at least not this quickly
it's only been such a short time
there's no reason for me feel this deeply
i like your hair
even as short as it is
and i like your smile
bright as the glint of the sun on the sea
i love your laugh
and the joyfulness in it
im sure all this will turn to love
if i got to know you more
but we're friends
and that's all we should remain
cause after the last time,
i don't think i could handle any more pain
i think about you all the time
and you'll never know
just how much i really care
even with the little that you show
but if maybe one day
you happen to notice,
then tell me you'll brush it off
infact, please make that a promise
