Promise

A promise is forever,

At least that’s what they say.

But welcome to reality,

Since they are broken every day.

You might think that you’re clever,

But soon you will find out.

Promises are made together,

Although soon one will find doubt.

The meaning of a promise,

Truly is never shown.

First you must be honest,

Trust must be grown.

You should always be alert,

For the truth can be deceiving.

Sometimes you might get hurt,

Which will change your believing.

Your heart is split into two,

But that you cannot fix.

No use of trying glue,

You must build a wall with bricks.
