Promise
Promise me you will never leave
Even when my hair is gray
When my bones are frail
Tell me you will still love me
Until death do us part
Made us so eager to take on life
Then we vowed and locked our souls into place
For a million years, and threw the key away
A million years we thought only to be heaven
But as the sun went down and the light started to fade
A lifetime of back and forth, up and down
We promised, we vowed to hold tight
No doubts no regrets, no thoughts in the back of our heads
We've brought lives into this world
Waiting for the sun to rise
But not even a life can bring back the light
I promised, and so did you
You told me you would never leave
So don't go when we're fourty-five
Then our children won't have to suffer
Please come home, i love you more
Please don't go, please stay
Please promise me
Just promise
