The Promise

I promise I will be there for you

I promise to love and  adore you

I promise to place you first,

you are the only one I love

you are the only one I need

nooone will seperate us

I promise to always be yourss

This were the words left

nailed in my head,

before he left.

I hugged and gave a kiss goodbye,

then watched him fade into the crowd,

as tears went down my face.

His words echoed in my head

for days, months and years.

So I stare at his smile

this paper was the only thing that

made me feel connected to him,

while I drown in our memories

of our unending love and let

the words play in my mind

like music.

So what happened

What happened to our unending love?

What happened to the story?

What happened to us?

What happened to the promise?
