promise

please don't let me go

i whispered to you

in the dark of your room

you gripped me tight

and promised

but how can you

make that promise

when you don't know

what the future holds

i wish it could all be simple

like it is when we are alone

when we are tangled in your sheets

but nothing is ever easy

especially when it involves me
