Promise Me

I want you to do

something for me.

I need you to

tell them all.

Tell my best friends

they couldn't stop it.

They did all they could

and I love them for it.

Tell my brothers

that I hate them

so much that

I love them for the

distraction.

Tell my sister and my mother

that I'm sorry.

For the indifference and

ice I gave to you.

Tell my father

your welcome. For

keeping all those

filthy secrets you

beat into me.

Tell my rapist

that it was

negative and

to thank his God

I don't believe in Hell.

Tell my bullies

that they did hurt

me, but not as bad

as they think.

Tell my first sip

that you were

a fire in my belly

that started a

blissful incoherent future.

Tell my first drags

thank you for the

calm in my storm.

Tell my room

to release its prisoners

and Tell my window

thank you for

the brief escape.

Tell them.

Promise me,

you'll tell them.

For me.
