Prophets for profit

2 Corinthians 2:17 New English Translation (NET Bible)

17 For we are not like so many others, hucksters who peddle the word of God for profit, but we are speaking in Christ before God as persons of sincerity, as persons sent from God.

Prophets for-profit

Travel in to the direction where I want you to go

I know what’s best you know I’m the leader of the flock

“Under-shepherd“ is my title: the one who’s in the know

You can depend on me; I’m the keeper of the clock

There’s a time for everything as long as you do my will

Up and down around you go at my well-defined instruction

Give me five my brother and lots of substance to direct my fill

As you follow me blindly since I am the author of pinion

You and I belong together: a giver and a taker

I take all I can as long as you will freely give

I don’t have to hide anything, I am not a faker

For I will show you surely the best way to live

Choices in the air and voices everywhere

Who can discern the importance of who and what?

Only the Holy Spirit Who blesses my fare

Shows me where I’m needed and really that is that
