Propitious

You black,
you won’t do it
You a drug addict,
you can’t do it
You a thug,
you’re trapped here
You’re not going anywhere

No

I’m African American
I refused to be stereotyped
my Ancestors taught me better
and They taught me to strive
that I am better than the status quo

That I will rise despite what you say

Black is Beautiful

Black is Powerful

Black is Intelligent

You will not tell me what I am
you will not tell me where I won't go
you will not, I won't let you.

Black is Beautiful

Black is Powerful

Black is Intelligent
