The Proposal

He sat and anxiously waited,

Twirling around the decision.

He knew he wanted to,

But would she say yes?

Courage overcame him,

He stood, then knelt,

She blushed,he asked,

Silence filled the room.

Heads turned and pressure got intense,

Would she say “Yes”?

He smiled up at her,

As a grin crossed her face.

She began to nod,

And the crowd began to cheer.

Her eyes sparkled as he grabbed her hand.

Slipping the ring on her finger,

Their kiss promised each other forever.
