Prosthetist: One Job...May Change My Life

My dream job is to change other people's lives. Not my own.

Of course I would like the paycheck.

Of course I would enjoy the thanks.

But these are not what I am after.

I wish to be a prosthetist -- a biomedical engineer.

I want to empower people with new and fully functional limbs.

I want to take all that is known about the sciences and put them to work.

I want to be an artist of the mechanical world.

The most life changing aspect of this job would be to finally enjoy waking up in the morning.

Too long have I toiled with school and college, just because I need to...

I need to wake up and make coffee.

I need to go to class, to listen, to take notes, to absorb.

I need to go take part and pay my way through a corrupt system...

I need to because I want to make a difference more than anything else.

So I will persevere -- I will keep going.

I will keep going because I want to change the lives of others, for the better.

And thus, their happiness will change my life.
