protectors

“Protectors”
My skin poses no threat to threat to the society in which the man with the tang colored face rules over. The boy with the kinked locks and chapped lips wants to earn a degree and make it big, just like you do. The woman with the large hoop earrings does not appreciate that her vanity is at your leisure or as to why the heartiness in her voice is under a magnifying glass. The young girls that get their swirls blanketed by faux strands of blond want no closure as to why you think that they are poaching a culture. The boy with the sweet tea and skittles wanted to cross the street not to be filled with buckshot with no spoken words. She had a rage filled spirit but only because she wanted to know why the supposed colors of freedom appeared in her rearview, not to know how cold a prison floor is or to be slain by our so called “protectors”. We all wonder why the ones with the natural turquoise irises get to ride the elevator but we have to learn to fly. Our protectors are actually people with no previous insight. Our protectors are people with no mental understanding. Our protectors are government applauded for killing our wrongfully convicted brothers and sisters. Our protectors are people that little Da’sean in second grade seem pushing his mother to the ground for a parking ticket but his classmate, Elijah is a protector disciple. Our protectors are the ones that turn authorization into over representation.
The saddest thing of them all, is that I didn’t a color but you knew what I meant.
