Protesting to me is an art
It is a way to defend yourself, a point of view, a way to start
To start a change or change someone else's way
To stop the violence or stop the drugs ...
To make sure he never touches you like he did that day
We all must stand tall and strong because no one deserves to cry so hard

Protesting to me is an art
We all unite, stand up and fight
Without the bruises or excessive amount of cups of boozes
We fight against what you know is wrong
Because the way he slammed you against the wall and threw away his respect
Isn't just the pain felt by the tears falling down your cheeks and onto your chest

Protesting to me is an art
Because the little girl who didn't know what her uncle was doing
Shouldn't put up with all the touching and abusing
Because she's hurt and bleeding out her pain
She needs someone to understand her and take away the feeling of blame
It happened to her and who knows who is next

Protesting to me is an art
We all hold hands, stand up and represent each and every woman
Together we are stronger, forever determined
To stop all the violence and put away the weapons
To protest and defend everything we believe in
So help me paint this picture
Help me write the lyrics to this song
Help me write this poem
Help me protest and fight strong
