proud to be a jew
Throughout history they showed us hate,
Yet we stood proud.
The Egyptians tried to tear us down by enslavement,
Yet we stood proud.
The Greeks and Romans tried to make us worship their gods,
Yet we stood proud.
The Crusaders tried to kill us,
Yet we stood proud.
Hitler tried to wipe us out,
Yet we stood proud.
America gave us a new home but tried to assimilate us,
Yet we stood proud.
I was born and raised here,
Now I stand proud to be a Jew.
