Prove it to Myself
Prove it to Myself
I’ve always been ready to go
In my mind I had just one goal
Go to school and help others
And also say bye to my mother
Practice, Practice, Practice makes perfect
and
Worry, Worry, Worry for auditions
My teacher said good luck
She said I was not good enough
My heart was broke
I felt like a joke
Although sad, I was not done
My story had just begun
I found a new teacher
And became a believer
With four auditions to do
I knew I’d get accepted to a few
I wanted to prove her wrong
I hoped to be right all along
After a couple long months
I finally felt hopeful for once
Four letters came in
AND I GOT IN
I proved to myself I could do it
Music therapy would be a good fit
I got into school
And helping others will be cool
It was my fear to not get in
But thanks to my violin
I can finally be a music therapist!
