Proving them wrong.

Your family has been thrown aside like a piece of utter waste.

The ones that say your family is but only a disgrace.

Your relatives never seemed to really finish high school.

Those whom seem to always doubt you.

Your parents never seemed to believed.

You still want.. NEED.. to succeed.

You were once much too poor.

When your mother and your sister were both named a whore.

Your family tree is as complex as calculus.

You’ve never heard the words ‘you can do this’.

But through all of the hardship and suffering you may face in this life.

You hope that one day, you and your children won’t ever face the same strife.

You WILL make it out of this awful town.

And you will never, ever, yet again frown.

Because, you are NOT your peers.

You HAVE potential, even through your tears.

So never believe, even for a second girl.

That you are your family

You are better than them.

You can face the world.
