Psychiatric Asylum Reasoning

You’re going to listen.
You  obviously don’t know how it feels to be beaten everyday of your life;
Watching the sun continue to glisten
And life just keeps going on.

No one ever realizes what it takes for me to get through the day.
I have to gather pieces of myself from the floor;
Force myself to say hey
And hide all of my pain.

I’m a freaking super hero.
I do shit that’s out the ordinary.
I’m able to function on zero;
I’m never off my fucking game.

Everyone says I have a perfect life--
It’s so frustrating.
I take frustrations out with a knife;
These scars are my proof.

But that’s enough ranting for now;
I don’t want to waste your precious time.
I could talk longer than your damn schedule would allow.
You don’t care what state I’m in.

You sit there scribbling notes in your journal.
Example: I seem to have insomnia.
But bitch I’m just nocturnal;
I’d hate to rest; be like you “normal people”

Oh, and you say you just want to see me well?
No, you’re just afraid of my intelligence.
If you had my mind your head would swell--
You’re jealous.

You try to take away my gift;
Giving me all these medications;
Wishing my spirits will lift.
But we both know the artificial happiness is no cure.

It’s simply a potential solution.
You think you can alter minds;
Get souls addicted to your happy, happy pollution.
Yeah, that will make the world a fucking perfect place.

By yeah, I think I like it here--
That’s why I don’t play your game.
I don’t feel like pretending my mind is clear;
I’m not going to be something you were able to tame.

I’m going to continue to live this way.
I’m never changing .
No progress will come from me on any day--
My mind doesn’t need rearranging.
