Psychoanalyst

The room is blue,
The room is calm,
The room is quiet,
The skies are clear,
I sit and wait as your eyes shift from side to side
sometimes your eyes are calm
sometimes watery
angry, fearful, unsure, blank

It's a different story
every time
And yet, within each book
you can pick out certain similarities

You look at me unsure or unwilling of what to say
you sit and wait for a
bit but eventually begin to speak
The sky begins to sprinkle
down little raindrops-barely audible as they hit the ground

The sky is grey and
the clouds begin to churn
the rain is coming down harder now-
its fat raindrops making their loud sounds
the wind is howling, the water is rushing, its dark, it’s hard to see
depression sickness death
the dam is cracking
its breaking
its broken
anxiety fear anorexia paranoia abuse rushes through

It’s out.
Everything is out.
The wind is ceasing, the rain is slowing
slowly but surely it all stops

Here we are still sitting in the same spot as before
Here I am sitting
waiting
listening
to you and your river of emotions

The room is blue,
The room is calm,
The room is quiet,
The skies are clear,
There is peace
You are safe
I am here to listen
