Puberty: A Pyschological Arms Race

What is anything?

I shift from feelings of boredom and pity

to feelings of violence

of firing round after ideological round into the standards of kids nowadays

breaking down the false sense of entitlement

only to be flanked on all sides,

the majority overcoming the minority,

the minority being me.

I then turn to ideas of acceptance

Of being successful, going through life

slowly checking every goal off my life long bucket list,

and smiling.

I'm battling the rebellious refugee in my head

This is the way things are,

these are the cards I've been dealt

let's just roll with it man,

just go with the flow,

or let's fight it. Let's scream and yell and tell the world that I'm different

than it's cookie cutter educations and lifelong devotion to paystubs.

These two emotions clash like the sea against the rocks in my head

like a mental war as devastating as Antietam.

This forced copulation of intimate emotions within my mental cortex lead me to the

emotionless empitness of my day to day routines.

Go, get it done, laugh it off, and roll with it.

but if you trigger me, if you get in my face, don't think I'll just sit back and chill.

I've got a fire inside me, a war that's been raging for 17 bloody years

Gunfire and ambushes, one emotion after another gaining the upper hand.

Don't get caught in the crossfire.
