Puddles
I cry for you,
Hope that one day you will realize,
Realize what it means to be human,
Realize what it means to be alive,
Realize what it means to have a chance.
I wipe my tears for you,
Wiping them dry,
Getting rid of any sorrow that I had.
Sorrow I had for you,
Sorrow I had myself,
Sorrow that was built on years of disappointment.
My tears have fallen off my cheek,
Creating a puddle that I sink into.
Tears up to my knees,
Leaving a deep, deep scar.
A scar that will never go away,
A scar that everybody see's,
A scar that I will keep hidden from you.
The puddle holds my secrets,
The puddle holds your secrets.
The puddle describes my past,
Showing my regrets,
Showing your influence.
Your presence causes tidal waves,
Splashing me in the face,
Reminding me of you,and what you have done.
With every wave of your presence,
I take a few steps back,
Making sure I keep my distance.
I cannot move forward,
Because forward means you,
Forward means I would have to face my fears,
My fears of you.
People say always keep moving forward,
But you have prevented me from doing that.
You have made sure that I would always be stuck,
Stuck in my puddle,
Stuck in your puddle,
Stuck in our puddle.
Sooner or later that puddle will turn into a pond,
A lake,
An ocean.
With the amount of sorrow you bestowed upon me.
I am sure my puddle will always grow.
Just to be certain of one thing,
I do do not need your tears,
I have enough of my own.
I do not need your words,
I hear them much to often,
I do not need you stares,
They send icy shivers down my back.
I have grown used to your tears,
I have grown used to your words,
I have grown used to your stares,
But I will never need them.
All I need is a bucket,
A shovel,
Or cup.
To empty out this puddle that I stand in,
This puddle that you stand in,
This puddle that we stand in.
