In the Pulp of the Heart

somewhere lost in the pulp of the heart

deep down, there is a longing

but I cannot see for what, for whom

I cannot see just why.

perhaps for love, perhaps for life

perhaps for sense of meaning

I see ghosts in my peripheral vision

as is the longing in the pulp of the heart.
