Pure White Mind

Heart worn on my sleeve

I’m told its made of gold

Empathy at its max

Doing what I’m told

Innocent mind saying that the world is just fine

Malicious thoughts start bleeding into

My pure white mind

I learn my escape is a paper and pen

Spilling out my thoughts from now until the end

The rhythm of the words

Become my life line

Trying to find control

In this chaotic life of mine

The pure white mind is now drowning in black

I’m starting to think there is no turning back

Helpless feelings and tidal waves of doubt

I’m choking on the water

My lungs trying to push it out

I learn my escape is a paper and pen

Spilling out my thoughts from now until the end

The rhythm of the words

Become my life line

Trying to find control

In this chaotic life of mine

I start to conserve my energy

Building up for my fight

I start to tread water

Not giving into my plight

These waves of doubt can keep pushing me down

But I know now that I will never drown

I learn my escape is a paper and pen

Spilling out my thoughts from now until the end

The rhythm of the words

Become my life line

Trying to find control

In this chaotic life of mine
