Purely McDonell
My Family – 'Purely McDonell'
If I had to describe my family in one word,
I'd say 'impossible'. I simply can't.
No one word can describe them, at least none that I've heard.
I won't venture into my whole family like my uncles and aunts,
But I don't need to, they're all quite the same.
I wish there was such thing as brother repellent.
My brothers are all rangas with very generic names.
Dave, Tom and Ben sometimes need to be translated,
And with their red hair, they'd put Prince Harry to shame.
You might think Sophie isn't even related,
Her pure blondness would blind you in a second.
If my parents wanted a normal family, that's not what they created.
My parents are actually a hundred years old, I reckon.
They never cease to constantly quote these ancient sayings.
They won't stop, no matter how much we beckon.
We seem to think our house is for displaying
Every one of our possessions. We've never been very clean.
And my siblings and I aren't really the best at obeying.
I don't even know how long it's been
Since we were actually early to something.
Most of us don't usually wake up 'till three.
If you know my family, you know sarcasm is our thing.
We're basically never serious, we constantly tease.
And they all have a problem when I sing.
Although there are some times our laughter is at ease,
I hope our humour will never seize.
