Purgatory
If I could find a way to forget.
burn all the memories glued to my chest.
Then I'd be happy just like you,
Carefree and blessed,
But then a part of you would die.
The part of you only I knew.
You've undressed out of your old clothes.
Burned and ragged they lie,
I try to wear them to keep the old you alive.
I am not you,
You are not you.
The fabric whispers lies.
As long as I sit here heartsore,
Then that part of you lives on.
The ghost of you starts to fade away,
I tighten my grasp although you wont stay.
But in the mirror the ghost of me,
Fades with you eternally.
