Purple to Brown

After a couple years with you

I realized that my favorite color isn’t purple

It was brown

No

Not any kind of brown

A chestnut kind of brown

A color-changing kind of brown

The kind of brown that only appears when it absorbs the rays of the sun

Not the color of dirt

The color of Earth

The glimmering soulful kind of brown

With specks of dark petals floating above the elegant murk

A cautious kind of brown

With a curious sadness trapped inside, hoping nobody would find it

A mysterious kind of brown

With a sorrowful history, unable to be forgotten

But also a

Hopeful kind of brown

Wishful kind of brown

A rich chocolatey

Happy kind of brown

A brown only created by you
