Purple Butterfly

I started off indifferent, indeed

i was very small.

i would walk very slow, couldn't keep

up with someone's flow, i was

very troublesome and i was very low,

to low to touch the clouds.

i would eat my greens and keep up

a good physical balance,

i dreamed that one day, i'll grow big.

i'll be beautiful and i'll be noticed.

one day, i dream i can soar in the sky,

then i would be so close the clouds,

i wouldn't be so far.

i had dreams, i had them big.

i was imprisoned, for many days,

or was it weeks?--

i felt my dreams disappearing, as i went

into eternal sleep.

The sunlight shined on me,

as i opened my eyes. i was upside down,

there was a crack of light, from the prison

cell i was in, i crawled my way through,

and i was free, i then spread my wings

and soared up high, so close and touched

the sky, i lived my dream.

this was reality; my wings painted purple,

pink and black, i felt colorful, and reckless.

purple butterfly, sweet and free,

purple butterfly with

big dreams.
