Purpose

My life passes by a little more each day

But what am I doing, is it wasting away?

There are so many wrongs I long to make right

But they continue to haunt my sleepless nights.

So many faults, I need to be new,

Unsatisfied with myself, but what do I do?

Every day I mess up, and find a new flaw,

There's so much to change, I can't fix it all.

Then I look around, at her and him,

I see the same look I'm feeling within.

They have struggles too, though different from mine,

They also feel frustrated and unsatisfied.

One screw-up isn't complete failure,

It's simply a lesson I'll remember again later.

I'll always get better, as long as I live,

If I learn from my mistakes, and keep my shame slim.

I can't lose hope, I need to remember,

To make peace with imperfection.

Live life to the fullest, that's all you can do,

And someone might actually learn something from you.
