Purpose of Man

What is the direction of man,

the destination, the goal, the end,

blindly grabbing for the unreachable,

so far, so close, so near,

in sight but never in hand,

unable to seize the wanted closure.

Naught to do with the lacking ability,

or the nonexistence of passion and need,

correlated with the hate and competition,

the confusing world and all its enemies,

chasing away all hopes of completion,

never able to relate and understand.

This is the truth of mankind,

said to be selfish, hateful, and cynical,

what all want but cannot achieve,

a word that exists in the hearts of all men,

real or imaginary one can claim,

the savior of all those who believe.
