The Pursuit of Courage

There rings the voice of sovereign Might removed,

to draw me still, unyielding countenance,

in fear of foreign entity resolved,

and world's false stock supplies my confidence.

The cry of Love did cause my soul advance

like prying cub in thirst for knowledge new;

but Satan's lies do holy truth offense,

and cause my soul's deep keep of fears renew.

A daring heart from God I must accrue

that I may slay and crush the Devil's snare,

and enter heav'nly bliss and love anew.

Those lies in depths will lay no more to bear.

From God alone my courage He imparts,

for trust in Him doth make my fears depart.
