Pushing Barriers

The fresh summer morning air seems to linger there

The smell of new possibilities

But are those possibilities reachable

As she rises up each morning she decides if she will chase her dreams or become a coward

Around her is a broken home, people full of anger, and saddness

How can one become something so successful without having an environment full of hope

Each day she goes to school seeing others who seem to be in a perfect home

As the day goes on her thoughts seem to roam

Roaming with negative and positives ways her life could turn out

The tiny voice in her head says don't lower your standards

Just open the planner

It won't hurt to try something new

Everyone around you believes in you too

Today was the day

To finally step up on that stage and be who she always has wanted to be

One step, two steps, three steps, four steps, and she is finally standing in the spotlight

Sing the first note she tells herself

Her mouth doesn't move

Panic arises from every inch of her body

If you don't do this you will become a nobody

The music begins and the lights dim

Do it she screams, just sing already

Keep you feet steady

It begins, and it's better than she ever imagined

Fear of becoming who she wanted to be

Now she is thriving and becoming as successful as she wants to be
