Put the Bottle Down

Father why do you yell? Is it because the liquor you hold, Your starting to scare me, your making me cry I thought you were a hero not a bad guy Is it because the liquor you hold, It's twisting your mind making it hell I thought you were a hero not a bad guy Your supposed to protect us not put us in fear It's twisting your mind making it hell Place the bottle down I'll get you some help Your supposed to protect us not put us in fear Don't you remember when you held us dear Your supposed to protect us not put us in fear Your word hurt mother and they make me tear Don't you remember when you held us dear I don't want to leave you but I have no choice Your words hurt mother and they make me tear Put the bottle down you've caused enough pain I don't want to leave you but I have no choice Please make an effort, try to change. -Emily Bonilla
