Puzzle Me

Puzzle Me

I'm the piece of the puzzle that's not about to fit according to the needs of everybody else. I refuse to be pressed and then cut out to be a lesser version of myself. I'm not aiming to be apart of a crowd that don't value or understand the reason for my silence. Understand the culture behind my surroundings - my climate. Don't know where they wanna go because of the lack of understanding from where. I'm. Coming. So worried about what I'm thinking, thought, doing, done that you can't do nothing but peel shade off my skin while we standing in the sun.  Get yoself together, hun. I'm tired of people watching my mouth move and not listening to the words that are coming out. I steady check my perspective and my blind spots, so don't look at me crazy when I'm backing out. I got a reason for every reaction so don't get set on doubt. Might as well let me mind my business and quit tryna gain the upper hand or get you some clout. It's unacceptable the way you speaking out. I was trying to save you from these words but time is quickly running out. You was the spider, I was the drain - I grew to be bigger and better than the water spout. All I gotta do is flush away my anxiety and wash the spider out. This the world we live in. I got shot up because the sun rays don't burn down my skin. America, America - we lackin' communication. Po' sweet child can't step outside with a bee - bee gun that ain't got a red tip like a new pen. But we got figures out here obtaining guns with out a permit. Shootin' up schools and churches w/ little repercussions. I don't get it. There's a disconnect somewhere in the system - the pieces ain't fittin'. Y'all looking at this through the wrong lense. The puzzle pieces don't and won't fit. Because I'm not. We not. The type of people that you think gotta fit in - to this cookie cutter of the american dream. We start from the bottom and come up clean. So don't charity case me, I'm queen.
