The Puzzle of Young Love

It’s like life is the puzzle right?

And I’m my own puzzle piece.

I got flat edges and curved edges.

I’m bent in certain places and so is everyone

And I’m trying to force myself into different places

I see the holes in everyone else’s lives and I’m trying to fill them

But it isn’t really my place.

Doesn’t feel like my place.

I’m constantly uncomfortable.

I'm squeezing into relationships

Contorting my personality to fit into them.

I used to fit into you

But we lost that puzzle and we lost those pieces.

Where are those pieces?

And here I am again thinking about my own edges and curves.

Trying to fit into you, yet again to no avail

Thoughts like if I was too much or I just wasn't enough of a boyfriend.
Thoughts like if I could turn back time, I would.
Thoughts like  that we're never going to be together again.
Thoughts like that you want me to trust you, even though you broke up with me.
Thoughts like maybe I didn't show enough trust for her, because I knew that breakup was inevitable.
Thoughts like if maybe, if I showed a little more trust in her, then it would be fine.
Thoughts like if I could ever let go.
Thoughts like you don’t think that you’re important, hurting yourself.
Thoughts like you don’t love me anymore, you just care about me.

Thoughts like if I should have stayed alone in the first place.

And it comes to the same despairing conclusion

Trying to fit into you, yet again to no avail.
