The Queen

Type of Poem: Terza Rima

 [aba bdb cdc ded ee]

The Queen

Rahbeka Anderson

She is as brave as any man may.

She allows no one to best her and that’s her cree.

As she walks and struts, everyone bows and listens to what she’ll say.

“The time had come, you all must follow me”

All jumped to attention and ran out the door.

The queen bustled ahead of them all toward the sea.

She never lies or cheats for she believes in gods might

Even the manliest of men believe in His power I’m sure

Even the rich and powerful are afraid of being smite by the Gods blinding light

It was mid-day by the time the progression reached the shore

Through pure hopelessness the queen sighed

The ship was not where it should any more.

As she watched the ship ride over the exceptionally high tide

She knew all was lost as the tsunami hit and they died.
