Queries of a Soul

What kind of a society do we live in, where moral rectitude is seen as ambition? Fear of morality rules the masses like a cancer. I look and see everywhere "United We Stand", yet fear of one another is ruled out by the government's hand. There is no such thing as brotherhood today. It's an archaic afterthought, that buzzes around in the back of our mind like flies on a rotting carcass. Our generation's courage is locked up together with the desire to be different yet they sing a song together of love and proclaim that change is imminent. The generation of today wants to fight back, wants to end the cycle of hate and bigotry preached by the very media that captivates our sensory and rules our memory. The generation of today is desperate begging for balm to soothe their wounds, an opportunity to break free from its rage-fueled cocoon. We hear so much about war, power, prestige, but we never worry about the hopes and dreams, the hearts we seize and shatter and squeeze... "it doesn't matter." The individual is lost among the multitudes, yet we know not that the multitudes are but a multiplication of multiple individual's attitudes! We are not alone. Regardless of what the world forces us to believe. Our hearts and minds and souls for once all concur and confirm that there needs to be a change in the course in which we are preparing for crash. And instead divert to a destination where emotions, science, and faith for once don't contrast. In the eyes of some, conflict causes reform and progression, yet what could possibly come from conflict if our generation won't learn it's lesson? I have a confession that shakes the very foundation of the structure of my bones... there were times where I would just ask Father to take me home, where my insecurities wouldn't matter if they were shown. Insecurities not of myself, but of the body I belonged to that is so perplexed this day and age, whom into the ethnocentric, pessimistic, unrealistic, jingoistic, background they fade... Stagnant... waiting for some societal panacea to cure the illness that is judgement, fear, and hysteria. Is there still, balm in Gilead? Or have we, in the pursuit of greed, thrown away the only humanity we've ever had? All I can do is pray, and hope that someone will hear our call for help one day. But until then, we strive for the happiness we desire, we will NOT be the same as the very conformity in our youth who has taken misery as identity and name. Our identity will be that of primal fire, who's effervescent flame causes our proverbial chains to slack and strain... We will not give in to the mortal sin, of taking our potential, and mutating from fact into history and antiquity's hymns, of what never was, but could have been.
