The Quest.

I wanted to leave everything behind.

My broken hearted past seemed

to empty the rest of whatever I thought was life.

I left it all behind, not for too long

to attend to unfamiliar comforts

to unknown teachers

and to uncertain paths.

Traveling the world seems like the ideal escape,

I did not want to be typical but I found myself

talking to myself.

It's been awhile, and so I listened and listened.

I kept my eyes open, my ears attentive, and

left my emotions to freely come as they chose to.

I finally was able to hear myself.

That was the reason for this journey all along.
