I've often gone in search of my identity,

Posing the question: Who am I?

A one point in time, I sang, "I am a musician",

For music has been a great passion of mine for as long as I can remember,

However, "musian" is an inadequate description of who I am.

At another time, I stated, "I am an intellectual",

For I had begun to crave new knowledge that could open doors I had never seen,

However, "intellectual" is an inadequate description of who I am.

Atyet another time, I exclaimed "I am an actress",

For performing ignites a thrill in my heart like nothing else can,

However, "actress" is an inadequate description of who I am.

So if I am not a musician,

Or an intellectual,

Or an actress,

Then who am I?

As I delved deeper to find who I was,

I discovered only one thing in which I could truly establish my identity in.

So I asked, "Who am I?"

"I am a child of God."
